After the re-opening on Wednesday 13th May and with the restriction of 2 balls we operated at 99% booking rate throughout the 18 days! It was a real eye opener for all concerned. There were issues experienced with the booking system, but I believe the stability and reliability of this system is improving continuously. With the welcome change to 4 balls this week we have seen course usage drop slightly to just more than 85% utilisation of available tee times. If you wish to book a free time, then do not forget to drop one of us a line and we will endeavour to fulfil your booking request.
Wow! Thank you all so much for all of your kind offers of help throughout this difficult period, to all of the volunteers who have assisted within the car park and on the first tee, without your help the smooth running of the Club would just not have been possible, your fellow Members are indebted to you.
Many of you will now have ventured out for at least 1 round by now, I believe the greenstaff have done a great job of presenting a golf course that is in superb condition. The feedback I have received from Members who have visited other courses is that we excel in all areas. After enduring one of the wettest winters in history they have now been greeted by one of the driest April & Mays ever, working with a skeleton staff all of the team have gone that “extra mile” to really ensure everything was ready for the return to golf. We are still working from 1 irrigation tank as we await the installation of the new liner, if you do happen to bump into any of the team irrigating an area please bear with them, the conditions are putting an unprecedented strain on our systems
Unfortunately it remains shut, however, we are already busy planning for when Boris says go, as we did with the course. Although you will not return a bar and Clubhouse that you would traditionally remember we will ensure all measures are followed and that Members will be able to return to the social side of their Club again in a safe manner.
